Higgs-Boson for the win!
Oh, I hope we're annihilated! *crosses fingers*
Woohoo, I'll never have to fill up my car again.
TomMmorRrow!, 9/10, will be etched in people's minds. We will then enter the completely changed post-9/10 world..
Let's pre-emptively create the Wikipedia article,
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=9/10&action=edit
before it's too late..
"The first attempt to circulate a beam through the entire LHC is scheduled for September 10, 2008, and the first high-energy collisions are planned to take place after the LHC is officially unveiled, on October 21, 2008."

Goodbye cruel universe!
..off course this revolution will be broadcasted..
They currently have this clip - cern in 3 minutes -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJFllPVIcpg (heavy discussion going on at this YT-clip) (featuring a soundtrack and some visuals very similar to Snap! Rhythm is a Dancer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9c5otT-RUA )
in an ending loop, presumably gmt+2 09:00 am
YAY!
i seriously just shuddered at the thought. seriously, anything could happen!
I hope a black hole is created at the center of the earth creating a wormhole between our world and the planet Zyptorgri millions of light years away, and an indigenous race known as Klyptrocists (half velociraptors, half Michael Vale) march their armies across the intergalactic space bridge and imprison our women and children and enslave the men of earth. That would be way cool.
now that i think about it, i'm not too worried about the world ending tomorrow, for as a wise man once said, "it's already tomorrow in australia"
You have to admit tho.. to the laymen, hearing someone casually say.. "oh yeah, mini black holes? Sure it creates them all the time...but don't worry they evaporate." WTF? That's not what scifi movies taught us!
:::reaches for her klonopin:::
Well I just tried looking up the webcast site. No deal. Black hole must have sucked it up already
I just died. Run everybody.
Do you read me? Over.
Due to a huge interest for this live video feed of the LHC First Beam day, you may not be able to see the live video stream and we apologise for this.
Please try reloading the page, come back later, or check the other connection options available on this page.
Many thanks for your interest in CERN and the LHC!
The team was holding its breath in the countdown to the switch-on after a series of technical hitches, including problems with the cooling system.
The switch-on saw the first stream of subatomic particles - known as Hadrons - circulating in the tunnel. The first collisions are expected in around 30 days.

They're doing science and I'm still alive.
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Damn, no reported gateways to hell have been opened.
I had a really bad hangover if that counts
HELLO, they are just spinning the beam in ONE DIRECTION!!
The world won't end until they start smashing stuff@!! In probably two months.
